Description

Our MyPilotPro Helicopter GoPro mount is designed to stand up to harsh conditions helicopters experience during flight including high G-force and extreme weather. They come in 4 sizes from 0.5″ diameter all the way through 2.5″ diameter. You can attach them to a wide range of tubular structure on your helicopter from the landing skids down to the smallest tube. We are proud authorized partners of Ram Mounts® and we use some of their components on our GoPro Helicopter mounts which allow you to point your camera in virtually any angle and direction.

Easily Attached and Secured

Our Helicopter Mount comes with neoprene spacers which allow you to adjust the inside diameter by ½ inch. The mount is very easy to attach to your landing skids or any other tubular structure. Simply place the neoprene spacers on the inside of the mount if any are needed, close the mount around your skid or tubular structure, and then snap the stainless steel bail latch in the groove. This process takes just seconds to accomplish.

Once you have snapped the stainless steel bail latch closed, insert the included stainless steel cotter pin in its’ hole. This pin ensures the bail latch cannot come undone and virtually locks the mount in place where you have attached it. After you point your camera in the angle and direction you desire, tighten down the Swivel arm with the wing nut and then insert the other hairpin into the hole at the end of the bolt. This ensures your camera can not come loose in the Swivel arm.Your mount and camera are now securely attached to your skid or tubular structure.

Versatile and Rugged

Our Helicopter Mount is the most versatile GoPro helicopter mount on the market! It comes in 4 different size ranges to accommodate a wide range tubular structures including landing skids. You can use it with any action camera such as GoPro. We are an authorized partner of Ram Mounts® and use their 1″ Swivel ball in this mount. This allows you to point your camera in virtually any direction and angle imaginable.

A lot of thought went into the design, materials, and structure of our Helicopter GoPro Mount. We wanted it to fit a wide range of tubular structures but also be rugged enough to stand up to anything the extreme conditions its’ meant to be used in can throw at it. We use stainless steel hardware and the mount body is tough glass filled nylon. This results in a mount that will last a lifetime in whatever rugged environment your adventures take place.

Used it once so far on the Cabri stinger as shown in the picture. Nicely adaptable to different tube diameters, yet somewhat a challenge to get it attached properly due to a pointy cotter pin, pliers would help tremendously to remove and then re-install that pin. Once set-up, no doubt it will stay attached and not fall off.
Nevertheless I was disappointed when reviewing the footage because even at speeds as low as 50 kts, the camera started to tilt down and out of alignment in the slipstream even though I did tighten the screws quite well. Will have to try again and see if I can avoid this to re-occur.
In any case, I doubt there is a more secure way to attach a camera on the outside than with this one!

This was the perfect mount to use on a hang glider. It fits on the cross tube without any adapters. Other mounts were either not very secure or were larger assemblies.
